CONNECT Singapore panels spotlight tokenized market liquidity, stablecoin spending and tougher crypto exits
At Cointelegraph’s CONNECT event in Singapore, panelists from trading firms, payment companies, analytics platforms and venture investors focused on three pressure points in the digital-asset market: liquidity in tokenized assets, practical stablecoin payments and increasingly difficult exit paths for crypto investors. GSR chief revenue officer Alex Taaffe said tokenized real-world assets are creating new market access in areas such as pre-IPO shares, commodities and global equities, but investor demand has not kept up with the pace of issuance. He and DWF Labs partner Lingling Jiang also pointed to fragmented liquidity as more issuers and blockchains enter the space. Another panel argued that stablecoins will not see broader adoption unless they fit into day-to-day consumer spending. Speakers from ether.fi, USDD, FinHarbor and Mercuryo said user experience, local payment compatibility and jurisdiction-specific compliance remain central obstacles, even as the stablecoin market cap has reached $306 billion. A separate discussion on onchain trading infrastructure highlighted cross-chain liquidity discovery and counterparty risk management, while venture investors said weak liquidity outside large-cap cryptocurrencies has made exits harder. Speakers from Nomad Capital, OneAsset and Funders VC said a maturing market is forcing startups to show stronger fundamentals and pushing investors toward longer time horizons.
